Mark Armstrong

I've known Mark for more than a decade and most of that time he's been living in Hong Kong.

Lucien

Strange to think that I met Lucien, in 1991 when I was studying photography, he was working with Kodak then, later that year he invited me to visit Rochester, which was a lot of fun. He's now based in NYC and its been ages since we've caught up, but every now and then we'll have a splatter of emails. He is the most prolific of all the photographers I know! I've linked to a page which dirrects you to all his sites!

Andy Brouwer

Before the early naughties boom in Cambodian tourism, Andy was there. Each year I'd read his exploits on his sight to work out what was possible and where the temples are to be found, with in a general area, Andy does not give many away! We met up a few times in Cambodia and Dined. What he recommends I trust. We've shared tour guides, bike riders and more than a few adventure tales. If your planning to see Angkor or better still more of Cambodia this is must see websites! (1. the early adventures 2. 2005-6 His Blog )

Naoki Hatano's Angkor Ruins

What a site! This has been a fav of mine for ages. On our curcumnavigation of Tongle Sap we found him in the same hotel in Kampong Thom, so we went off for dinner and to see his picks and talk about "lost" temples! Sure the sites in Japanese but don't let that stop you, as he's written the temple names in Romanised and the number of temples is amazing.

Norm Yip

I first met Norm in Hong Kong in 2002 or so. His work is very much about body, fitness and contempary male body politics. His work brings the asian male body into the first world mainstream and demands attention.

Marcus Mok

I'm not sure when I first made contact with Marcus, it was before he'd done many, if any, male nudes. I think it was in the days of irc... He's developed a style that emphises phyique and form over personality. He's got a great range to the work and keeps being inventive.

Tuck Hong

I came across Tucky's work in Manazine. The photographs of the male body are under corporate, then editorial. This series poses a wonderful problem. If you present photographs as if they are sculpture but have Singapore's censorship board to deal with what do you do? The results are strangely more confrounting then my Gods + Warriors series.

Ducky Tse

Mark Armstrong told me about Ducky's work. It was his series of village men entering the big city and how they they entertained themselves. It was a self published book. I'm attracted to his observations of the everyday in Hong Kong and of the Chinese people. I particully love his 1997 and Hong Kong faces series.

Lonsam

Who is this amazing artist? If anyone knows please email me! Wonderful photo based work, that brings together such diverse influences as Japanese history, village culture, Tom of Finland, brotherly love and gay lust. This is not a collection for the weak kneed. It is work of a amazingly creative mind, in a style I've not seen before. Please note this gallery has depictions of graphic homosexual sex.

Apple

Very few companies go beyond "brands" and become "love marks" and Apple is perhaps the one that users become most evangelical about. This site was built on an Apple.
